How To Beat the Lakers: A Friendly Guide by the Indiana Pacers
The Los Angeles Lakers are a tough team you say? Nonsense! With these quick and easy steps, your NBA team too can defeat the the Lake Show!

1) Just Shoot a Whole Bunch of Threes- Forget conscience. Just do it. Even if you miss, don’t worry, you’ll get the long rebound. Hey, it beats getting beat up by the Laker bigs inside all night! One of the pioneers of this unorthodox strategy is current Pacers coach Jim O’Brien himself. He took a Celtics team whose 2nd best player was Antoine Walker to the Eastern Finals seven years ago with this strategy. The Pacers shot 22 threes and won the offensive rebound battle, 19-8. Done and done.
2) Have a Quick Point Guard- Remember, the Lakers start professional weightlifter Derek Fisher as their starting point guard. Do you realize he weighs 210 pounds? TJ Ford weighs 165 pounds you say? He is going to whiz by with 45 less pounds to carry and score 21 points on Fisher while getting 8 dimes? Now you’re getting it! Everybody line up for open layups and shooting drills!

3) Have An Awkward Big Man That Shoots Threes- Other NBA teams might think that players like Troy Murphy aren’t championship caliber starters, but you know better! They knock down the three when your little point guard is driving and kicking. As an added bonus, they are the only ones on the court that realize you must stand ready at the free throw line if you want to rebound that errant three! Silly opposing big men, boxing out at inside the paint!
4) When Your Team Plays No Defense and All Else Fails, Score 118 points- I mean, who is going to stop you? You’ve got Danny Granger going 10-27! That only means more offensive rebounds! Somewhere out there, Antoine Walker is shedding a tear of joy.
The Lakers lost 118-117 to the Pacers tonight. The same Pacer team that has beaten the Celtics this year. Jim O’Brien is a coaching genius.

I thought Marquis Daniels going 4-15 was the key to the game. He really ignited the Pacers offensive rebounding with his horrendous shooting. This includes his final shot, which Troy Murphy tipped in. That guy knows what he’s doing.
what an exciting game, turned off the radio when la was up big in the 4th…what do you guys think of the laker d? gave up 118 points against an eastern team…even the past several games, i think they are giving up way too many points, i think it comes down to outscoring them in order to beat ‘em, kinda like the bibby/webber/peja sac days.
The Lakers played horrible defense. At least this cheered me up.
The funniest part was Kobe trying to call a time out right after.
You forgot the last and most important step. Put in a lucky tip in the final seconds.
