Lakers Recover, Beat Bucks

The Lakers took care of the Milwaukee Bucks 104-98 to finish off their 7 game road trip with a 5-2 record.  Not bad.  The better news?  Kobe and Sasha got out of their funk.

Bryant had shot an awful 39% from the field during the trip, but shot 10-19 (52%) to finish with 30 points, 8 rebounds, 4 assists, and 4 steals.  His previously jammed left ankle got tweaked late in the game, and he started looking slow again.  I will sit here and cringe for his health until the playoffs begin.

Sasha must have thought it was a practice session, because the guy didn’t miss the ball.  “The Machine” converted on all 3 attempts, 2 of them 3-pointers, and was 6-6 from the line for 14 points.  I will temporarily allow him to collect part of his 3 year, $15 million contract.

With Odom and Gasol still playing amazing, I have allowed a sliver of hope of winning it all again creep up into my thoughts.  After all, if Bynum is now running and doing light practice drills, can anyone beat a completely healthy Lakers team 4 out of 7 times?  I hope the Lakers are healthy enough so I can find out the answer to that question is a resounding “No”.
